About Samsung

Since flat panel TVs have become mainstream Samsung has been the most sold TV brand. Check out Amazon’s Best Sellers List here. As of April 17, 2015 eleven out of the first twenty most sold TVs are Samsung, I predict that Samsung will continue this trend.

The overall quality of Samsung’s products have been excellent, the only problem that has plagued Samsung is the notorious bad capacitors. This did not only affect Samsung, LG has multiple models

Samsung Capacitors

with this problem. It is caused by the capacitor manufacturer, Samwha. Their current models are not affected by this problem. Samsung did extend the warranty for many models with this problem

but that has expired. Even when Samsung covered this under warranty some service centers replaced the capacitors with the same manufacturer, Samwha. Our company only installs premium brand capacitors: Nichicon, Nippon Chemi-Con, Panasonic, and Rubycon. We don’t only replace the capacitors that are currently faulty, but all the capacitors in the circuit that are known to go bad (no matter the current condition).

As a technician with more than a decade of TV repair experience, I recommend Samsung TVs. For several reasons: their quality is consistent, Samsung does not license their name to other manufactures, if you need service (in or out of warranty) most likely you will be able to find a local technician.
